Cirratulidae Ryckholt, 1851
Update: Blake (2016, 2018) published descriptions of several new species of Cirratulidae from worldiwide areas, including Southern Ocean.
The following genera with a single pair of dorsal tentacles were recorded in this study (full keys are given in Blake 1996):
Chaetozone – species with stout acicular chaetae in abdominal chaetigers, sometimes forming complete cinctures.
Caulleriella – species with distinct bidentate chaetae.
Aphelochaeta – simple capillaries throughout.
Tharyx – chaetae with knob-shaped terminal ends.
Chaetocirratulus - posterior chaetigers with simple pointed acicular spines not arranged in cinctures.
Kirkegaardia - capillaries both smooth and with ones having basally flattened blades having fine to coarse denticles or serrations along one edge
Genera with several pairs of dorsal tentacles with other kinds of chaetae recorded in this study:
Dodecaceria – spines with curved or spoon-shaped endings.
Cirratulus – simple spines, multiple eyes on prostomium
