Leptoecia vivipara Orensanz, 1990
Voucher specimens. TOROA: station T9FB; INFLEXIBLE: stations 2MFB and 5MFB.
Diagnosis. Specimen from T9FB 72.5 mm long with 56 chaetigers. Palps reduced. Antennae with short cerratophores with no annulations. First chaetiger slightly enlarged and orientated forward. No peristomial cirri. Dorsal cirri gradually reducing in length, becoming a small knob-like in posterior chaetigers
First chaetiger with long chaetae with small bidentate hooks at tip. Bidentate subacicular hooks from chaetiger 12.
Tough, chitinous, transparent tube.
Remarks. This species has been reported as carrying developing embryos/young in the tube. Previous distribution was off Antarctica at depths of 437–1180 m.
